PTF-51-PRO/PoE/Micro v2 is a miniature surge protector dedicated to LAN 100-BaseT networks based on UTP category 5 or 6 cables. Its small dimensions and built-in cable with a plug allow for quick and easy installation and concealment of the device in small enclosures. It is ideal for protecting IP industrial cameras equipped with original bases that hide accessories and all connections. The protector protects against the effects of surges and lightning strikes, as well as acts of vandalism (the action of stun guns). The device individually protects each transmission pair, eliminating surges above 3.5V within them and grounding charges of up to 2.5kA per wire.

Version 2 has been designed from the ground up along with the cabling and housing to increase the level of surge protection and improve mechanical properties.

A special connection scheme protects LAN devices from voltage spikes on PoE power lines in all possible standards (including those transmitted on transmission lines). Lines 4-5 and 7-8 are connected together because LAN Base-100T uses them solely for PoE power supply. The protector protects both groups of power pairs from voltage spikes above 58V and damage to the power supplies of end devices such as switches or IP cameras.

It is recommended for protecting end devices installed outside buildings (walls, attics), where there may be a spark jump from other structures or the value of the induced charge inside the cables may be high.

The device does not provide continuity of the shield for FTP cable; if such continuity is required, it is necessary to use standard PTF-51 or PTF-51/DIN devices.

To ensure an adequate level of protection, it is necessary to connect the protector to grounding or, in the absence of it, to the protective PE wire. The grounding of the protector must not be connected to lightning protection circuits, and a grounding point for the protector must not be created near the grounding of the lightning protection circuit.
