1-channel surge protector from the Economical series, LAN 100Mbit network protection, designed for 100Base-T installations, PTF-51-ECO/PoE/T in heat-shrinkable cover.
1-channel LAN surge protector, designed to protect devices working in a 100Mbit LAN network against overvoltage, such as IP-CCTV cameras, Internet of Things, LAN switches, industrial automation controllers and buildings. It is compatible with Ethernet networks 10Base-T and 100Base-T, using any type of cabling. Compared to previous series, protection against surges in PoE circuits of any type has been taken care of, along with discharging charges to the ground. High-quality printed circuits with tuned differential pairs ensure very good transmission parameters and contribute to the elimination of crosstalk, which is the cause of unstable operation of LAN networks.
The product is intended for installations where both end devices of the LAN network are located inside buildings and no part of the cable passes outside the buildings. In case the conditions are not met or there is a need to increase the level of overvoltage protection, the PRO or EXT series protector should be used.
Special connection layout protects devices from overvoltages, also from voltage increase on PoE power lines in any possible standards (also transmitted on transmission lines). Lines 4-5 and 7-8 are connected because LAN 100Base-T uses them exclusively for PoE power supply. The limiter protects both power supply groups from voltage increase above 58V and damage to end devices' power supplies, such as switches or IP cameras. The PoE power transmitted by the limiter can reach a maximum of 60W (HiPoE compatibility).
PTF-51-ECO/PoE/T ensures continuity of the FTP cable shield, but in the ECO series it is not connected to ground.
To protect one LAN channel, two identical devices can be used, installed at both ends and properly grounded. In case of the need to protect multiple circuits, it is recommended to use a multi-channel limiter on the LAN switch side and single-channel limiters on the end devices' side.
