PTF-51-ENG/PoE/Micro, LAN surge protection device operating without grounding, CCTV protection, designed to protect IP cameras and LAN switches installed indoors.

PTF-51-ENG/PoE/Micro is a new miniature surge protector that utilizes the Extreme No Ground solution. It is designed to protect LAN networks where there is a problem with bringing the grounding line PE to individual camera points or other LAN end devices. The device can be used to protect external cameras, but the protection will be limited solely to the elimination of a small electromagnetic impulse induced in the LAN cable. It works with LAN networks 10-BaseT and 100-BaseT, based on UTP category 5 or 6 cables.

Its small dimensions and built-in cable with an RJ-45 connector allow for easy connection and concealment of the device in small enclosures. It is ideal for protecting IP industrial cameras equipped with original bases that hide accessories and all connections. The surge protector protects against the effects of surges and lightning strikes, as well as acts of vandalism (the operation of stun guns). It individually protects each transmission pair from surges induced within individual pairs and in individual groups of pairs used for PoE power supply.

To achieve the full effectiveness of the ENG series surge protector, it is necessary to use at least a PRO series surge protector on the other side of the cable (in a single-channel or multi-channel version) and provide it with appropriate grounding.

Thanks to the use of MOSFET technology, the PTF-51 protection eliminates surges occurring within transmission lines three times more effectively and has a lower susceptibility to damage due to prolonged surge currents.

A special connection arrangement protects LAN devices from voltage spikes on PoE power lines above 58V, in each of the possible standards (also transmitted on transmission lines). Inside the surge protector, lines 4-5 and 7-8 are connected because LAN 100Base-T uses them solely for PoE power supply.

The device does not provide continuity of the shield for FTP cable; if such continuity is required, it is necessary to use standard PTF-51 or PTF-51/DIN devices.
