PTF-51-PRO/PoE/Micro/T, miniature LAN surge protector with increased effectiveness in heat shrinkable cover, protection of UTP cables, designed to protect IP cameras and LAN switch ports in CCTV systems.

PTF-51-PRO/PoE/Micro/T v2 is a miniature surge protector designed for 100-BaseT LAN networks, based on UTP 5 or 6 category cables. Its small size and built-in plug allow for quick and easy installation, as well as hiding the device in small enclosures. It is ideal for protecting IP industrial cameras equipped with original bases that hide accessories and all connections. The protector protects against the effects of surges, lightning strikes, and acts of vandalism (such as stun guns). The device individually protects each transmission pair, eliminating surges above 3.5V within them and discharging charges up to 2.5kA per wire to the ground.

Version 2 has been designed from scratch, including wiring and enclosure, in order to increase the level of surge protection and improve mechanical properties.

Special connection layout, LAN devices before the increase of voltage on the PoE power lines in any possible standards (also transmitted on the transmission lines). Lines 4-5 and 7-8 are connected together, because LAN Base-100T uses them only for PoE power supply. The limiter protects both power line groups from voltage spikes above 58V and damage to end devices power supplies, such as switches or IP cameras.

It is recommended for protecting end devices installed outside buildings (walls, attics), where spark jumps from other structures may occur or the value of induced charge inside the wires may be high.

The device does not provide continuity of the FTP cable shield, if such continuity is required, it is necessary to use standard PTF-51 or PTF-51/DIN devices.

To ensure proper protection level, it is necessary to connect the limiter to the ground or, if not available, to the protective wire PE. It is not allowed to connect the limiter ground to lightning protection circuits and to create a limiter grounding point near the lightning protection circuit ground.
