PTF-51-ECO/PoE/Micro/T, miniature LAN surge protector in heat-shrinkable cover, designed to protect IP cameras and LAN switch ports in CCTV systems.

PTF-51-ECO/PoE/Micro/T v2 is a miniature surge protector designed for 100-BaseT LAN networks, based on UTP category 5 or 6 cables. Its small size and built-in plug allow for quick and easy installation, as well as hiding the device in small enclosures. It is ideal for protecting IP industrial cameras equipped with original bases that hide accessories and all connections. The protector protects against the effects of surges, lightning strikes, and acts of vandalism (such as stun guns). It can be used to secure LAN networks inside buildings, protecting end devices, switches, or wireless bridges. The device individually protects each transmission pair, eliminating surges above 3.5V within them.

Version 2 has been designed from scratch, including cabling and housing, in order to increase the level of surge protection and improve mechanical properties.

Special connection layout also protects devices from overvoltages on PoE power lines in all possible standards (also transmitted on transmission lines). Lines 4-5 and 7-8 are connected together, because LAN 100Base-T uses them exclusively for PoE power supply. The limiter protects both power supply groups from voltage surges above 58V and damage to end devices' power supplies, such as switches or IP cameras.

The device does not provide screen continuity for FTP cable, if such continuity is required, standard PTF-51 or PTF-51/DIN devices must be used.

The product is intended for installations where both LAN end devices are located inside the building and no part of the cable goes outside the building. It should also not be used near unprotected installations coming from outside the building, where strong spark discharges may occur. If the conditions are not met or there is a need to increase the level of surge protection, the PRO or EXT series limiter should be used.

To ensure proper protection, it is necessary to connect the surge protector to the ground or, in case of its absence, to the protective conductor PE. It is not allowed to connect the grounding of the surge protector to lightning protection circuits or to create a grounding point for the surge protector near the grounding of the lightning protection circuit.
