High-quality 1-channel LAN protection for 1GB Gigabit Ethernet networks, designed for Category 6 installations, 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX, PTF-61-EXT/PoE/T

1-channel LAN protection, designed for surge protection of Gigabit Ethernet networks, compatible with 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX standards. It includes direct discharge of large surge currents individually from each wire, without commonly used intermediary elements that weaken surge resistance and have a huge impact on the emission or absorption of electromagnetic interference. Carefully designed multilayer printed circuits, special production process and modern components have allowed to achieve excellent parameters required in category 6 cabling.

Three protection levels using MOSFET technology effectively filter surges passing through the cabling and introduce an additional separating buffer in case of large potentials between the LAN switch and individual endpoints. MOSFET technology lowers the potential level that reaches the protected device (Voltage protection level UP) during a surge to a value that is only slightly higher than the rated operating voltage (Un). Achieving such parameters is impossible with the most commonly used conventional solutions.

Independent PoE protection circuits eliminate voltage surges between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This solution protects end device power supplies from damage caused by atmospheric discharges or uncontrolled voltage spikes, such as those resulting from PoE power supply failure. The solutions used are completely neutral for each PoE standard and protect each of them, including Hi PoE.

PTF-61-EXT/PoE is designed for installation near LAN endpoints such as: PC computers, PLC controllers, IPC cameras, radio transmitters, and IoT devices. The lack of a housing allows for placement of the protector in very small spaces. Proper grounding of the protection using the PE line is necessary for correct operation, and it is best to use the shortest, dedicated grounding point. It is also important to follow the directional operation of the protective function described in the user manual and not reverse the device connections in the LAN installation, which can cause improper operation or even damage.

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
