Ewimar: frequently asked customer questions: What is the difference between PTU and PTF panels?

13-07-2022

Clients often ask us what is the difference between PTU and PTF panels. We will answer! Well, the difference lies in the input connectors, i.e. connectors on the endangered side.

In PTU panels we use LSA connectors (formerly KRONE) with clamps for shielded cables. A special advantage of LSA connectors is the good connection quality and higher shock resistance than RJ45 sockets, which is important in the case of overvoltages with high surge value - product example: PTU-516R-EXT / PoE.

In PTF panels, we use high-quality shielded RJ45 sockets as input connectors, which, according to many opinions, facilitates and speeds up the connection of the panel to the installation and allows for convenient switching of cables between the ports of the protector - product example: PTF-516R-EXT / PoE. In both cases, the installer has at his disposal additional holes for fixing cables in order to protect them against pulling out.
