4-channel Gigabit Ethernet LAN Surge Protector Module, PTF-64-PRO/PoE

The module is designed to protect gigabit LAN networks from the effects of surges and atmospheric discharges. It is built on a multilayer PCB with carefully designed printed circuits, which, together with durable components of small dimensions and dedicated 6 category sockets, ensure excellent transmission quality and high impact resistance. Each wire is individually protected by a protective component with a 2.5kA (8/20µs) impact resistance, which, combined with uniform paths of very large thickness, provides a product with stable surge protection properties.

Low values of wave reflections, foreign crosstalk and attenuation for frequencies of 4 x 250Mhz, as well as the continuation of the connection of the cable screen, allowed the PTF-64-PRO module to be classified as products compliant with the category 6 standard, which is important for large 1000Base-T and 1000Base-Tx LAN networks. Despite not utilizing the quality parameters of category 6 in the most popular 1000Base-T networks, the quality reserve of parameters is important for their stability, as the amount of interference signals increases proportionally to the number of LAN cables accumulated in the Rack cabinet.

For devices powered by PoE, independent protection against voltage surges between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8 has been built in. This solution protects LAN device power supplies from damage caused by surges, such as atmospheric discharges or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example due to PoE power supply failure. The solutions used protect all types of PoE power supplies and allow power transmission in the Hi PoE standard.

RJ-45 sockets have been used on both the protected (Device) and unprotected (Line) sides. This solution speeds up cable connection, servicing of complex protective panels in a Rack cabinet, and makes it easier to connect them to existing installations.

The PTF-64-PRO/PoE module is installed in a dedicated PTU/PTF-6-RACK base, which can accommodate up to 4 modules of different types. Ready-made 8-channel and 16-channel devices with all modules of the same type are also available. The module can also be used in small installations and screwed to the wall after being mounted in a plastic PTU/PTF-6-BOX(DIN) housing.

The product has been tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
