High-quality 4-channel surge protector module, LAN 1GB Gigabit Ethernet network protection, dedicated for 6th category installations, 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX, PTF-64-PRO/PoE

The module is designed to protect gigabit LAN networks from the effects of surges and lightning strikes. It is built on a multilayer PCB with carefully designed printed circuits, which, along with durable small-sized components and dedicated category 6 sockets, ensure excellent transmission quality and high impact resistance. Each wire of the cable is individually protected by a protective component with an impact resistance of 2.5kA (8/20µs), which, combined with uniform paths of very large thickness, results in a product with stable surge protection properties.

Low values of wave reflections, alien crosstalk, and attenuation for frequencies of 4 x 250Mhz, as well as the continuation of the cable shield connection, allowed the PTF-64-PRO module to be classified as compliant with category 6 standards, which is significant for large LAN networks 1000Base-T, 1000Base-Tx, and 10GBASE-T. Despite not utilizing the quality parameters of category 6 in the most popular 1000Base-T networks, the quality reserve of parameters is crucial for the stability of their operation, as the amount of interfering signals increases proportionally to the number of LAN cables accumulated in the Rack cabinet.

For devices powered via PoE, independent surge protection has been built in between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This solution protects the power supplies of LAN devices from damage due to surges caused by lightning strikes or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example, due to a failure of the PoE power supply. The applied solutions protect all types of PoE power and allow power transmission in the Hi PoE standard.

On the protected (Device) and unprotected (Line) sides, RJ-45 sockets are used. This solution speeds up the connection of cables, servicing complex protective panels in the Rack cabinet, and facilitates their connection to existing installations.

The PTF-64-PRO/PoE module is installed in a dedicated PTU/PTF-6-RACK base, which accommodates a maximum of 4 modules of different types. Ready-made uniform 8-channel and 16-channel devices with all modules of the same type are also available. The module can also be used in small installations and mounted to the wall after being installed in a metal housing PTU/PTF-6-MBOX(DIN).

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
