16-channel Gigabit Ethernet LAN protection, PTF-616R-PRO/PoE

16-channel surge protection for Gigabit Ethernet networks, based on category 5, 5e, 6, and 6a structured cabling. It is built from four PTF-64-PRO modules, mounted to the PTU/PTF-6-RACK base. It is installed in a 19" Rack cabinet on the front rail, allowing for easy switching of cables in user networks or on the rear rail using LK-MOUNT angled brackets, in case of application for IP-CCTV recorders.

The front RJ-45 (DEVICE) sockets represent the surge-protected side and are connected to the LAN switch ports. The sockets located at the back represent the unprotected side (LINE), to which long lines of LAN infrastructure are connected. When using the PTF series protection, an additional patch panel with RJ-45 sockets is usually used. To ensure continuity of shielding for FTP cables, shielded patch cords should be used. The placement of the unprotected side sockets at the back of the protection is conditioned by the need to ensure high quality of its transmission parameters and low crosstalk.

The PTF-64 series modules are high-quality surge protection and transmission devices. The use of multilayer PCB boards has resulted in compliance with the category 6 cabling standard and correct testing for frequencies of 4 x 250MHz.

Independent PoE protection protects against voltage spikes between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This protects the power supplies of LAN end devices from damage due to surges caused by lightning strikes or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example, due to a failure of the PoE power supply. The solutions used protect all types of PoE power and allow power transmission in the Hi PoE standard.

Proper grounding of the surge protection must be ensured by connecting the included grounding wire to a properly grounded Rack cabinet. The optional PTU/PTF-5/6-COVER provides protection for the circuits and connections of the protection against dust, and also serves as an additional shield against interference when a large number of panels are used.

The best level of protection is achieved by using surge protectors on both sides of the cables: Multi-channel on the LAN switch side and single on the end device side, for example, PTF-61-PRO/PoE.

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
