1-channel LAN surge protector mounted on a DIN rail, designed for protection against surge in Gigabit Ethernet networks, compatible with 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX standards. It includes direct discharge of large surge currents individually from each wire, without the involvement of intermediary elements that weaken surge resistance and have a huge impact on the dissipation or absorption of a large amount of interference. Carefully designed multilayer printed circuits using a special production process and modern components have allowed for excellent parameters required in category 6 infrastructure.
Two protective stages effectively eliminate induced surges in cabling and provide additional separation in case of large potentials between individual devices in the LAN network.
Independent power protection circuits for PoE eliminate voltage increase between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This solution protects end device power supplies from damage caused by surges from atmospheric discharges or uncontrolled voltage increase, for example due to PoE power supply failure. The solutions used are completely neutral for each PoE standard and protect each of them, including Hi PoE.
The PTF-61-PRO/PoE/DIN is designed for installation near the endpoints of LAN networks such as PC computers, PLC controllers, IPC cameras, radio transmitters, and Internet of Things devices. It is equipped with a DIN rail mountable housing. The grounding of the protector is done through the DIN rail, which should be connected to the PE line at the shortest and most isolated grounding point. It is also important to follow the directional protective function described in the user manual and not reverse the device's connections in the LAN installation, as this may cause improper operation or even damage.
The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
Using PTF-61 protectors to secure a single LAN network
Surge protectors can also be used on the LAN switch side, but for multiple channels, we recommend using multi-channel protectors from the PTU-6xx or PTF-6xx series.
