The PTU-54-PRO/InPoE/P product is a 4-channel protective module for LAN networks, dedicated to professional LAN networks. It is enriched with a passive PoE power injector, sending 15W of power to each port at a supply voltage of 48V. By increasing the voltage to 57V, up to 20W of power can be transmitted on each port. The specified maximum power is dictated by the simple introduction of PoE (without a negotiation circuit) and an automatic fuse of 350mA. Passive power transmission above 15W @ 48V is not recommended, as damage to the cable or connection errors may cause damage to the LAN ports in end devices. For power transmission up to 30W/port, we recommend using the PTF-54-PRO/InPoE/A module, which includes an active PSE negotiation circuit.

The module is designed for building multi-channel surge protection systems for LAN 10Mbit or 100Mbit networks, among others for protecting computers, switches, PLC controllers, industrial television systems, and other devices installed inside buildings that require PoE power.
It can be used with a LAN switch that does not have PoE power ports or used to increase the number of PoE ports in case of insufficient power or number of PoE ports in the LAN switch. A power supply with a voltage of 48-57V DC with a recommended output of 2A should be used to power each module, which will prevent the power supply from shutting down when the automatic fuse is triggered.

PoE transmission occurs on transmission lines 1-2, 3-6, similar to the IEEE standard: 802.3af, option A. Pairs 4-5 and 7-8 are completely disabled inside the module.

NOTE! The InPoE module can be connected to a PoE port in the switch, but it does not transmit PoE power between the LINE and DEVICE sides.

The module has an increased impact resistance of 2.5kA per wire, allowing for direct discharge of large surge loads directly to the ground, originating from induced impulses as well as spark jumps. Complementing this are circuits protecting devices powered by PoE pairs, where damage may occur due to induced surge currents during lightning strikes, but also due to damage to the PoE power supply. An additional protective barrier against surges is provided by built-in isolating transformers on the LINE and DEVICE sides.

The product is compatible with Ethernet standards 10Base-T and 100Base-TX and can be used with category 5, 5e, 6, and 6a cabling - due to the use of shielded sockets, the screen connection is not utilized between the LINE and DEVICE sides.

The module can be mounted in metal enclosures PTU/PTF-5-MBOX, PTU/PTF-5-MBOX/DIN (1 piece) and in PTU/PTF-5-RACK panels (up to 4 pieces), creating complete multi-channel protective systems or, by using different modules, systems with varied purposes and protection levels.
Modules in Rack panels can be combined with others to achieve an optimal configuration for the installation's required needs.

All modules in the PTU-54 series have a grounding point realized through the mounting screws of the Rack enclosure, making any expansion or replacement of the module very easy and not requiring additional actions. The entire device is connected to the ground using the included wire, attached to a common grounding point.

The protected side is equipped with RJ-45 sockets, while the unprotected side has LSA connectors. The modules can be connected with other patch panels, serving as terminations for LAN cables.
