The PTU-58R-ECO is an 8-channel patch panel with LSA connectors (Krone), designed to terminate LAN cables in 19 "RACK cabinets. It is integrated with an ECO series surge protection that is sufficient to protect devices and LAN cables installed inside the buildings. It is compatible with 100Mbit LAN (100Base-T Ethernet), used to connect PCs, home automation, industrial automation and buildings, and IP-CCTV system. It provides surge protection of data transmission circuits and PoE power supply of any type and power of up to 60W, devices installed inside buildings. Efficiency of 100A with 8/20uS waveform with discharge to the ground is sufficient in most applications inside buildings, where the main cause of damage may be the induction of an electromagnetic pulse in the wires.

Patch panel consists of two PTU-54-ECO/PoE modules, assembled in a 19" RACK panel and can be easily expanded to 16 channels using PTU or PTF series modules The 5xx series are newly designed modules with better data transmission and immunity for high currents than the previous series. It ensures more stable operation, less signal crosstalk and allows you to power high power devices using the PoE standard.

Patch panel can be used with UTP, FTP of 5, 5e, 6th category or higher cabling. In 100Mbit (100Base-T) network, lines 4,5 and 7,8 are used only to supply PoE and for simplifying the protection they have been grouped. It does not change the parameters of these networks, however during measurning by the LAN network tester, the short circuits will be reported on these lines, which is a normal effect. Patch panel PTU-58R-ECO/PoE is not suitable for LAN networks, which are subject to certification for 5e, 6th category or higher - in this case, use a patch panel dedicated to this category and use a PTF-58R-ECO/PoE as a surge protection. Built-in PoE protection protects against power surges due to overvoltage or damage to the power supply, both on transmission pairs as well as on 4.5 and 7.8 pairs.

On the unprotected side (input), LSA connectors (Krone) and clamps for shielded cables were used. On the protected side (exit) RJ-45 sockets were used to connect LAN devices. Optional top cover protects against dust and accidental damage to the modules. Special holes in the base for mounting the panel also on the wall. LAN cables can be mechanically secured against being pulled out with the use of clamps, using holes or tabs at the back of the panel.

When used for CCTV installations together with NVR recorders, the panel can be mounted on angle brackets at the rear of the rack. The benefits of this solution are: More space in the closet, convenient access to all connections, shorter patch cords - IP recorders usually have all connectors at the back.

The best protection efficiency is achieved by using surge protection on both ends of the LAN cable and proper earthing. Typically, multi-channel protection is used on the LAN switch side and 1-channel surge protection on the LAN end devices.
