Surge protection system for gigabit network, 8 channels with RJ-45 sockets, protection for 1GB Gigabit Ethernet LAN, dedicated for installation of category 6, 1000Base-T and 1000Base-TX, PTF-68R-PRO/PoE

8-channel limiter dedicated for Gigabit Ethernet networks, based on structural network of category 5, 5e, 6 and 6a. It is built with two PTF-64-PRO modules, mounted on the PTU/PTF-6-RACK base. It is installed in a 19" Rack cabinet on the front rail, which allows for easy switching of cables in user networks or on the back rail using angled LK-MOUNT brackets, in case of use with IP-CCTV recorders.

The front RJ-45 sockets (DEVICE) are the protected side against overvoltage and the LAN switch ports are connected to them. The sockets located at the back are the unprotected side (LINE), to which long lines of LAN network infrastructure are connected. In case of using the PTF series limiter, an additional connection patch panel with RJ-45 sockets is usually used. In order to ensure continuous shielding of FTP cables, shielded patch cords should be used. The placement of the sockets on the unprotected side at the back of the limiter is conditioned by the need to ensure high quality of its transmission parameters and low crosstalk.

The PTF-64-PRO series modules are devices of very high anti-surge and transmission quality. The use of multi-layer PCBs resulted in compliance with the category 6 cabling standard and correct tests for frequencies of 4x250MHz.

Independent PoE protection protects against voltage surges between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This protects LAN end device power supplies from damage caused by surges, such as those caused by lightning strikes or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example due to a PoE power supply failure. The solutions used protect all types of PoE power supplies and allow for power transmission in the Hi PoE standard.

The panel has additional space for mounting 2 PTF-64 or PTU-64 series modules, which allows for expansion of the surge protector at any time, up to a maximum of 16 channels. It is important to ensure proper grounding of the surge protector by connecting the included grounding wire to a properly grounded rack cabinet. The optional PTU/PTF-5/6-COVER cover provides protection for circuits and surge protector connectors against dust, and also serves as an additional shield against interference when multiple panels are present.

The best level of protection is achieved by using surge protectors on both sides of the wires: a multi-channel one on the LAN switch side and a single one on the end device side, such as the PTF-61-PRO/PoE.

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.
