PTF-516R-PRO/PoE is a surge protection, designed to effectively protect 16 channels of LAN up to 100Mbit and connected devices installed outdoors. It is recommended for Wifi bridges, CCTV cameras and automation, mounted on the facades of buildings and other ungrounded structures. High strength up to 2kA for each conductor of the LAN cable with direct discharge surges to the ground, prevents damage to electronics due to the electromagnetic induction or flashover dhe surge from other installations or cabling.
The complete surge protection device consists of four PTF-54-PRO / PoE modules, mounted in a 19" RACK panel, which can be easily replaced with other models The 5xx series has much better data transmission and surge protection parameters than previous models. The new solutions of the PoE circuit protection systems protects each of the available standards and allows the transmission of power up to 60W.
Rack panel together with modules form a complete protective panel, equipped with RJ-45 sockets on the protected side and unprotected side, which facilitates connection to existing installations and shortens the service process. The optional top cover secure the protection modules against dirt and accidental damage. The tabs and holes for the cable ties allow for secure fixing of the wires.
The optional LK-MOUNT angle brackets are used to attach the panel at a 45-degree angle to the rear rail of the rack, which is advantageous when using NVR recorders in CCTV installations.
The best protection efficiency is achieved by using surge protection on both ends of the LAN cable and proper earthing. Typically, a multi-channel surge protection is used on the LAN switch side and one-channel protectors on the end-LAN devices. In order to balance the impact strength of the entire LAN cable , on the other side of the cable use a surge protection the PRO or EXT series.
PRO series surge protection should not be combined with popular patch panels with LSA connectors (Krone) due to the low strength for high surge currents of their printed circuits. As endings of LAN cables, use Keystone type connectors and patch cords with thick conductors, preferably 6th category, shielded.
