SUG-7-DIN / 24VAC - surge arrester (overvoltage protector) to 24AC mounted on DIN rail, lightning protection do devices powered 24VAC
Product discontinued - replaced by SUG-24VAC/DIN
The SUG-7-DIN / 24VAC is designed to protect 24V AC power supplies against atmospheric discharges, overvoltage pulses, and sudden power surge that may result from power supply failure. The built-in 2A fuse (on request available with 1,1A fuse) limits damage to the power supply (transformer) and the risk of fire in the event of a short circuit in the wires or the connected equipment.
The surge arrester is mounted on a typical 35mm DIN rail. Sliding locks on two sides make it easy to install SUG-7-DIN in any position. High quality (zaciski windowe) with high current load limit the risk of damage at high impulses. The device takes up the width of one DIN standard module.
Can be used for any electronics devices powered by 24VAC such as industrial automation, industrial cameras, etc. It is connected between the power source (transformer) and the receiving device.

Simplified block diagram
In order to provide effective protection against lightning, it is recommended to use two arrester and their grounding. Connect one of the devices as close as possible to the power source and the other as close as possible to the receiving device. Make sure that the side of the INPUT surge arrester SUG-7-DIN (LINE) is always on the side of long wires where an overvoltage can be induced.
Example of correct protection of the 24VAC power supply line
This model should not be used for 24VDC. Its use will limit the level of protection.
