Surge protection module PTF-54-PRO/InPoE/A with an active power injector, designed to build modular surge protectors for 100Mbit LAN networks. It is compatible with 10Base-T and 100Base-T Ethernet networks. Designed to professional CCTV installations.

The PTF-54-PRO/InPoE/A product is a 4-channel surge protection module for LAN networks, enriched with an active PoE power injector. The maximum power that can be sent to each port is 30W at 48V. The integrated PSE negotiation circuit monitors the voltage and power consumption, ensuring full safety of the installation and connected LAN devices. This protects against damage in case of connection errors or short circuits in the cables, as well as in case of failure to comply with the required power standard for the receiver. The product provides PoE power to devices compliant with the IEEE 802.3af/at specification, option A.

The module is designed for building multi-channel surge protection systems for 10Mbit or 100Mbit LAN networks, including protection for computers, switches, PLC controllers, industrial television systems, and other devices installed inside buildings that require PoE power.
It can be used with a LAN switch that does not have PoE ports or used to increase the number of PoE ports in case of insufficient power or number of PoE ports in the LAN switch. To power each module, a power supply with a voltage of 48-56VDC should be used, providing sufficient power for the powered devices - a recommended power supply should have a power of approximately 150W.

PoE transmission takes place on transmission lines 1-2, 3-6, while pairs 4-5 and -7-8 are completely disabled inside the module.

ATTENTION! The InPoE module can be connected to a PoE port on the switch, but does not transmit PoE power between the LINE and DEVICE sides.

The module has increased shock resistance of 2.5kA per wire, which allows for direct discharge of large shock loads directly to the ground, coming from induced impulses and spark jumps. This is complemented by circuits protecting devices powered by PoE pairs, where damage can occur due to induced shock currents during atmospheric discharge, but also due to PoE power supply failure. Additional protection against surges is provided by built-in isolating transformers on the LINE and DEVICE sides.

The product is compatible with Ethernet standards 10Base-T and 100Base-TX and can be used with category 5, 5e, 6, and 6a cabling - thanks to the use of shielded sockets, the connection between the LINE and DEVICE sides is not utilized.

The module can be mounted in plastic enclosures PTU/PTF-5-BOX or PTU/PTF-5-BOX/DIN (1 piece) as well as in panels PTU/PTF-5-RACK (up to 4 pieces), creating complete multi-channel protection systems or by using different modules, systems with different purposes and protection levels.
Modules in Rack panels can be connected with others to achieve an optimal configuration for the required installation needs.

All PTF-54 series grounding point modules are implemented through mounting screws on the Rack enclosure, so any expansion or replacement of the module is very easy and does not require additional actions. The entire device is connected to the ground using the attached wire, attached to a common grounding point.

Protected and unprotected pages are equipped with RJ-45 sockets, so modules can be connected to other patch panels, which serve as terminations for LAN cables. However, standard patch panels with LSA (Krone) connectors and Keystone sockets should not be used, as their printed circuit board durability is very low and there is a risk of damage in case of a surge. It is best to terminate the cables with simple RJ-45 plugs.
