16-channel IP-CCTV surge protection from the PROFESSIONAL series with passive PoE input function, dedicated to 100Mbit LAN networks, mounted in a 19" RACK cabinet, PTU-516R-PRO/InPoE/P.

16-channel surge protection, dedicated to protecting 100Mbit LAN networks, PC computers, industrial and building automation systems, and IP-CCTV industrial television installations. It provides protection for data transmission paths and delivers PoE power up to 15W/channel in passive mode. It is recommended for use with wireless bridges, CCTV cameras, automation controllers and lighting, mounted on building facades and other ungrounded structures. High impact resistance of up to 2.5kA for each wire with direct discharge to the ground prevents damage to electronics due to induction of high energy in wires or spark jumps from other installations.

By increasing the supply voltage to 56V, it is possible to transmit up to 20W per channel. The maximum power given is dictated by simple PoE input (without negotiation circuit) and a 350mA automatic fuse. Passive power transmission above 15W @ 48V is not recommended, as damage to the wire or errors in connections can cause damage to LAN ports in end devices. For power transmission up to 30W/port, we recommend using the PTF-516R-PRO/InPoE/A module, which includes an active PSE negotiation circuit.

The product consists of four PTU-54-PRO/InPoE/P modules, mounted in a PTU/PTF-5-RACK housing.

PoE transmission takes place on transmission lines 1-2, 3-6, similar to the IEEE standard: 802.3af, option A. Pairs 4-5 and -7-8 are completely disabled within the device. Built-in PoE power protection protects against power surges or power supply failures.

The product can be used with a LAN switch that does not have PoE ports or can be used to increase the number of PoE ports in case of insufficient power or number of PoE ports in the LAN switch. To power each module, a power supply with a voltage of 48-56VDC and a recommended output of 2A should be used to prevent the power supply from shutting down when the automatic fuse is activated.

The panel is equipped with RJ-45 sockets on the protected side and LSA connectors on the unprotected side. The optional cover PTU/PTF-5/6-COVER protects against dust and accidental damage to the modules, and special holes in the base allow for mounting the panel on the wall. Signal cables can be mechanically secured against pulling out using cable ties, using holes or protrusions on the back of the panel.

In the case of using the panel for CCTV installations with IP recorders, it can be mounted on corner brackets at the back of the Rack cabinet. The benefits of this solution include: more space in the cabinet, convenient access to all connections, and shorter patch cords - IP recorders usually have all connectors at the back.

The best protection efficiency is achieved by using surge protectors at both ends of the LAN cable and proper grounding. Usually, a multi-channel device is used on the LAN switch side, and a 1-channel protector is used on the end devices side. In order to balance the impact resistance of the entire LAN line, a protector no lower than the PRO or EXT series should be used on the other end of the cable.

Do not connect PRO series limiters with popular patch panels using LSA (Krone) connectors due to the low impact strength of their printed circuits. It is best to use cables terminated with the simplest RJ-45 plugs.
