This results in increased durability and a significant reduction in surge voltage reaching the protected device. An additional advantage of this solution is the limitation of equalization currents, which protects RS485 interfaces against potential spikes. The product has very low attenuation, which makes it possible to transmit data at very high speeds.
A double SUG-RS485-12VDC/DIN protector is also available (https://ewimar.com/ogranicznik-przepiec-magistrali-rs-485-i-zasilania-12vdc-montowany-na-szyne-din.html), which eliminates surge voltages between any wires - also between RS-485 and the power supply, thus increasing the protection effectiveness.
