In a series of posts entitled "Ewimar: the most common customer questions", we try to comprehensively answer all questions that come to the Ewimar sales department. In the first post from this series, we discussed the circumstances in favor of investing in surge protection: https://ewimar.com/blog/ewimar-frequently-asked-customer-questions.htmlIn today's post, we will answer the next issue: How to correctly select a series of LAN network arresters?

In an earlier post, we explained the importance of the characteristics of the facility on which we provide surge protection. Using the example of the IP CCTV system, we would like to introduce you to the principle of the correct selection of Ewimar arresters. Using the example of the IP cameras installation, powered by a switch or recorder with built-in PoE supply, we explain how simple it is :-).

Devices installed inside the building (except for industrial facilities) are protected with the ECO series (efficiency up to 100A / wire core), and for the protection of devices located outside the building, we use the PRO series (efficiency up to 2kA / cable core) or EXT series (efficiency 2kA). / wire core in MOSFET technology), depending on the arrangement of end devices and cabling. An important rule for the correct selection of arresters is to use protectors of the same series on one signal line. Thanks to this, the appropriate level of effectiveness is maintained, ensuring adequate protection. If you have questions or would like to select proper devices, we remain at your disposal.
