Differences between the effectiveness of surge arresters

 All installations to exposed on different levels of surge currents. It depends on the place where those devices are installed, the way of wiring and the type of materials used in the construction of buildings. Not everything surge arresters must be used with the highest protection parameters. To take into account the different levels of hazards we created 3 groups of protective devices of varying effectiveness. This allows flexible and individual selection of our products for a particular installation points, maintaining the same dimensions, functionality, and appearance.

ECONOMICAL series is a low-cost solutions to protect CCTV equipment, installed inside the building only . It provides effective protection against a sudden increase in voltage on each pair of LAN cable, the source of which is the strong electromagnetic field impulse associated with lightning discharges. It also protects against electrostatic surges, and use of electronic stun guns.

This shematic diagram exists only in LAN protection systems. ECO symbol used in ground loop separators of Analog HD products mean “no protection functions”.

PROFESSIONAL series is a solution with increased protection efficacy and discharge of high value charges directly to the ground from each cable conductor. Built-in 2-level protection with decoupling delay line in the form of high power resistors allow the elimination of electrostatic surges and direct flow of large surge currents. PRO series is a basic surge protection for equipment mounted outdoors, such as CCTV cameras IP, transmitters or wireless networks. Carefully designed circuits and components with a low capacitance, have a negligible effect on the transmitted signal.

This solution exists in LAN protection systems and High Definition CCTV (AHD, HD-CVI and HD-TVI).

Products marked with PoE, have additional protection between separate pairs, which are used to power the terminal devices (48V PoE).

EXTREME series is solution using the latest technology in the field of surge protection. In addition to the typical components used in the PRO series, they have additional level of protection in the form of ultrafast MOSFET fuse with automatic reset. This innovative solution very effectively protects against sudden surges that arise during discharge and ground loop potentials. MOSFET fuse automatically detects the overcurrent and cuts off the circuit from overvoltage source (time=1 uS). After the suppression of the overvoltage by protection components, the connection is immediately restored. Extreme Series is recommended for LAN devices, especially vulnerable to lightning, for example: cameras or radio bridges mounted on poles and roofs of buildings. Ultra-low capacitance circuit (approx. 3pF) hardly influences the very high frequency signals.
