The surge protector is designed to protect and isolate the short circuit of the power supply of alarm system sensors from the effects of lightning strikes. It has 8 protective paths equipped with super-fast MOSFET fuses, which disconnect the power circuit in which the short circuit occurred within 1μs. This prevents the power supply from being disconnected and other sensors of the alarm system from being turned off due to sabotage actions, without causing a current load on the power supply and battery. The short circuit can last indefinitely, and after its removal, the power to the disconnected circuit is restored automatically. The built-in surge protection function protects the alarm lines of the control panel from damage due to lightning strikes and surge currents of up to 2kA.

The protective circuit discharges induced potentials to the ground using the PE line.

The product is made in the form of a module, mounted in a dedicated housing along with other modules that can create a comprehensive protection system for all signals of the alarm control panel. To achieve full surge protection for 8 alarm lines, it should be used in conjunction with the APS-8Zi/1P module.
