PTU-54-PRO/PoE surge arrestor module, designed to 100Mbit LAN network, compatible with Ethernet 100Base-T. Recommended to protect LAN devices installed outdoors.

4-channel PCB module, designed for the construction of multi-channel surge arrestors for LAN. It use of LSA connectors (Krone) on the unprotected side, it has a dual functionality: Patch-panel for LAN cables + surge arrestor with increased impact strength for each conductor of the LAN cable. Direct discharge of large surge currents to the ground without intermediate elements (looped through transformers or coupling by diode bridges), provide total protection at the level of 14kA for the FTP cable.

New series has better transmission and strength parameters for long-term currents, compared to earlier models. Tuned printed circuits and better quality RJ-45 sockets ensure smaller crosstalk and damping of transmission lines, and new solutions and components ensure correct operation and protection of PoE power up to 60W (HiPoE).

On the basis of PTU-54-PRO/PoE modules, you can build 10Mbit or 100Mbit LAN surge protection systems, they protect, among others, computers, switches, PLC controllers, IP CCTV system and other devices installed outside buildings.

Additional equipment are circuits that protect devices powered by passive or active PoE lines, where damage can arise as a result of induced surge currents during lightning discharge, but also as a result of damage to the PoE power supply. The PTU-54 series modules cooperate with PoE power supply in many IEEE standards, including: 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt - type 3 (HiPoE, UPOE).

It is compatible with 10Base-T and 100Base-TX Ethernet networks and can be used with 5, 5e and 6th category cabling, and thanks to the use of shielded sockets, it ensures full continuation of the FTP cable screen. Because in this type of networks, 4.5 and 7.8 steam are used only for PoE power supply, they have been grouped, so the module shouldn't be an element taking part in the measurement of cabling parameters 5e, 6th category or higher.

The module can be mounted in a 1U housing, model PTU/PTF-5-RACK (up to 4 pcs), creating complete multi-channel protection systems. With the use of various modules, we obtain systems with various purposes and a protective level.

All modules of the PTU-54 series are grounded by mounting screws of the rack housing, therefore the possible expansion or replacement of the module is very easy and does not require any additional steps. The connection of the entire device to the earth electrode is made with the aid of an attached cable, fastened to a common earthing point.
