1-channel LAN surge protector mounted on a DIN rail, designed for surge protection of Gigabit Ethernet networks, compatible with the standards 1000Base-T, 1000Base-TX, and 10GBASE-T. It includes direct discharge of large surge loads individually from each wire of the cable, without the involvement of intermediary elements that weaken surge resistance and have a significant impact on the dissipation or absorption of large amounts of interference. Very carefully designed multilayer printed circuits using a special manufacturing process and modern components have achieved excellent parameters required in category 6 infrastructure.

The applied 3-stage protection using MOSFET technology effectively eliminates surges induced in the cabling and introduces additional separation in the event of large potentials between individual devices in the LAN network. MOSFET technology reduces the potential level that reaches the protected device (Voltage protection level UP) during a surge to a value that is only slightly higher than the rated operating voltage (Un). Achieving such parameters is impossible with the most commonly used conventional solutions.

Independent power protection circuits for PoE eliminate voltage rise between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This solution protects the power supplies of end devices from damage due to surges caused by lightning strikes or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example, due to a failure of the PoE power supply. The applied solutions are completely neutral to any PoE standard and protect each of them, including Hi PoE.

PTF-61-EXT/PoE/DIN is intended for installation near end points of the LAN network such as: PC computers, PLC controllers, IPC cameras, radio transmitters, Internet of Things devices. It is equipped with a housing mounted on a DIN rail. The grounding of the surge protector is done using the DIN rail, which should be connected to the PE line and preferably to the shortest, dedicated grounding point. The directional operation of the protective function described in the user manual should also be observed, and the connections of the device in the LAN installation should not be reversed, as this may cause improper operation or even damage.

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.

The surge protector can also be used on the switch side of the LAN, but in the case of multiple channels, we recommend using multi-channel protectors from the PTU-6xx or PF-6xx series.
