As of April 1, 2021, the product was modified and version 3.1 is currently available. The direction of data transmission was changed, which allowed for the installation of the product on the transmitting side and obtained the function of increasing the bus length with the serial connection of the RS-485 network.

The product has been designed to galvanic separation connected devices. Can be used also to extend length of the RS-485 network and increase amount of connected devices. It eliminates transmission interferences and possible damage to the RS-485 line drivers which is the result of ground-loop effect.

It is used with installations where transmission is always carried out in one direction - CCTV cameras, automation devices, etc. It use optical separation with 1kV insulation and 600W TVS diodes for overvoltage protection.

Removable connectors and very small dimensions of the device facilitate installation and service. EW-485/1/1/So v3.1 should always be used on the transmitting side of the RS-485 bus (at controller). It is conditioned by optical separation only on the side marked as SLAVE. The MASTER side is always galvanically connected to the power supply. If the connection site will be reversed, the galvanic separation will be lost. If it is necessary to use the galvanic separator on the receiving side, use the EW-485/1/2/So product.
