PTF-51-EXT/PoE/Micro is a miniature surge protection Extreme series, designed to IPC cameras, 100-BaseT LAN, based on UTP cables of 5 or 6 category. Small dimensions and built-in cable with RJ-45 plug enables quick and easy assembly and concealment of the device in small housings. Ideally to mount mount in deep base of the IP-CCTV cameras. The surge protection protects against the overvoltages and surge discharges, as well as acts of vandalism (stun guns). It can be used to protect LAN devices mounted outside of buildings like CCTV cameras radio bridges and LAN switches. The device individually protects each transmission pair, where the overvoltage of over 6V is eliminated inside them and discharges to the ground of loads with values up to 2kA.
It is recommended to protect LAN devices mounted on metal poles or metal constructions. It use MOSFET technology to decrease 3 times more efficiently surge overvoltages in the transmission lines and damages as a result of long-term surge currents. Due to the super-fast reaction to the exceeded serial current, they are an excellent protection against counteracting currents arising during the discharge between the individual points of the metal structures groundnings. This is important for CCTV installations, where many end devices are installed on poles or in an industrialized environment.
A special solution protects LAN devices against voltage increase on PoE power lines in any standards. Lines 4-5 and 7-8 are grouped because LAN 100Base-T uses them only to PoE. The PTF-51-Micro protects PoE against an increase voltage above 58V during surge lighting or during damage to power adapter.
It is recommended for protection of Lan equipment, installed outdoors (walls, attics), where the surge current of the induced load can be large.
The device does not provide shield continuity for the FTP cable, if such continuity is required, it is necessary to use standard products PTF-51 or PTF-51/DIN.
To ensure an adequate level of protection, it is necessary to connect a good quality grounding or PE protective conductor.
It is not allowed to connect surge protector circuits and to create a grounding point of the limiter near the earth of the lightning rod circuit.
