Surge arrester for 12V DC mounted on DIN rail

SUG-7-DIN / 12VDC - surge arrester 12V DC, surge protection mounted on DIN rail, overvoltage protection for devices powered 12V DC

Product discontinued - replaced by SUG-12VDC/DIN

The SUG-7-DIN / 12VDC is designed to protect 12V DC powered electronic devices against lightning, overvoltages, and sudden power surges that may result from power supply failure. The built-in 1A auto fuse reduces the risk of damage to the power supply and the risk of fire in the event of a short circuit in the wires or the connected equipment.

The surge arrester is on a typical 35mm DIN rail. Sliding locks on both sides make it easy to install SUG-7 in any position. High quality (zaciski windowe) with high current load limit the risk of damage at high impulses. The device takes up the width of one DIN standard module.

It can be used for any electronic device, both for consumer and professional installations. It is connected between the power source (power supply, battery) and the receiving device

Simplified block diagram

In order to provide effective protection against lightning, it is recommended to use two surge arresters and their grounding. Connect one of the devices as close as possible to the power source and the other as close as possible to the receiving device. Please note that the side of the INPUT limiter SUG-7-DIN (LINE) is always on the side of long wires where an overvoltage can be induced.
