PTU-16R-PRO / PoE is an 16-channel device combining Ethernet patch-panel for UTP Category 5 and surge protection, saving your LAN network from lightning. The system is based on a 4-channel interchangeable modules, which freely chosen can create a device most suitable for the requirements of each installation.
The protection has two levels of protection and high efficiency which are capable of protecting the LAN for installing IP cameras or other devices on the network outside the building.

In the described model 4 modules of PTU-4R-PRO / PoE are installed. Patch-panel housing has a special projections, for restraining wire LAN using band clips. Further holes allow the use of double band clips for each line, which increases the mechanical strength of the connected cables.
The panel is intended for mounting in a 19" rack, but it contains holes for mounting on the wall. After installing the optional cover is additionally protected against mechanical damage and accumulation of dirt.
LAN device protects against power surges, arising as a result of lightning, electrostatic and vandalism.
PRO series is recommended for the CCTV installations where network equipment (cameras, recorders, switches), located inside the building. If you want to protect external cameras mounted on poles or roofs, use the control panel or the Extreme series.
These pulses have a destructive effect on the Ethernet interface drivers, despite the use of galvanic insulation used on the hardware layer.
PTU-16R-PRO / PoE is specially designed for powering CCTV with PoE switches. For powering used 4,5 and 7,8 pins, which are connected together in order to increase the current flowing through the protection system. Due to the limited power decoupling resistors, the maximum power to the equipment should not exceed 30W at 48V. Decoupling resistors protect the safety components from damage in the event of an overvoltage a longer time and allow for gradation of security.
To achieve the full effectiveness of the device must be connected to ground (meeting the requirements of the current legislation) or PE wire electrical system. It is not recommended to connect the ground wire to the lightning protection unit building.
