PTU-16R-ECO / PoE is an 16-channel device combining Ethernet patch-panel for UTP Category 5 and surge protection, saving your LAN network from lightning. The system is based on a 4-channel interchangeable modules, which freely chosen can create a device most suitable for the requirements of each installation.
In the described model, four modules are mounted PTU-4R-ECO modules.
Patch-panel housing has a special holes and tabs for restraining wire LAN using band clips. Further holes allow the use band clips for each LAN band clips, which increases the mechanical strength.
ECO series is recommended for the CCTV installations where network equipment (cameras, recorders, switches), located inside the building. If you want to protect external cameras mounted on poles or roofs, use the control panel or the Pro or Extreme series.
These pulses have a destructive effect on the Ethernet interface drivers, despite the use of galvanic insulation used on the hardware layer.
PTU-16R-ECO / PoE is specially designed for powering CCTV from PoE switches. For powering 4,5 and 7,8 pins, which are connected together in order to increase the current flowing through the protection system. Due to the limited power decoupling resistors, the maximum power to the equipment should not exceed 30W at 48V. Decoupling resistors protect the safety components from damage in the event of an overvoltage for a longer time and allow for gradation of security.
To achieve the full effectiveness of the device it must be connected to ground (meeting the requirements of the current legislation) or PE wire of electrical system. It is not recommended to connect the ground wire to the lightning protection unit building.
