The materials have been prepared with designers, installers, and specialists responsible for the maintenance and protection of telecommunication infrastructure in mind. In the following episodes, we will analyze real threats occurring in installations and present solutions that effectively secure devices and systems.

In the first part of the training, we discuss threats related to surges and direct lightning discharges. These are among the most common causes of damage to electronic devices in telecommunication installations.

• why direct lightning discharge is one of the greatest threats to installations,
• what effects a lightning strike on a building or power line can have,
