8-channel surge protection designed to the 100Mbit LAN network, used to protect PCs, industrial automation systems and buildings as well as IP-CCTV system. It provides protection of data transmission and PoE power supply of any type and power up to 60W, devices installed inside buildings. The effectiveness of protection is 100A in the 8/20uS impulse with the discharge of the surge currents to the ground, which is sufficient in most applications inside buildings, where the main cause of damage may be the induction of an electromagnetic pulse in the LAN cable.
The surge protection consists of two PTF-54-ECO/PoE modules, mounted in a 19 "RACK housing and can be easily expanded to 16 channels using PTU or PTF series modules The 5xx series are newly designed protection devices with better transmission and current load parameters relative to previous series, which ensures more stable operation, less signal crosstalk and allows you to power high power devices using the PoE standard.
The panel can be used with UTP, FTP of 5, 5e, 6th category or higher cabling. In 100Mbit (100Base-T) lines, lines 4,5 and 7,8 are used only to supply PoE and for simplifying the protection they have been grouped, which does not change the parameters of these networks, however when measuring the LAN using meters, the short circuits will be reported on these lines. Measurements of category 5e and 6th or higher installations should be performed without PTF-58R-ECO/PoE protection. Built-in PoE protection protects against power surges due to overvoltage or damage to the power supply, both on transmission pairs as well as on 4.5 and 7.8 pairs.
The panel is equipped with RJ-45 sockets on the protected side and on the unprotected side. This facilitates adaptation to already existing systems and speeds up the connection and servicing process. It can be connected to existing patch panels with LSA connectors (Krone) using RJ-45 patch cords. Optional cover protects against dust and accidental damage to the modules and special holes in the base for mounting the panel also on the wall. LAN cables can be mechanically secured against being pulled out with the use of clamps, using holes or tabs at the back of the panel.
When used for CCTV installations together with IP recorders, the panel can be mounted on angle brackets at the rear of the rack cabinet. The benefits of this solution are: More space in the cabinet, convenient access to all connections, shorter patch cords - NVR / DVR recorders usually have all connectors at the back.
The best protection efficiency is achieved by using surge protection on both ends of the LAN cable and proper earthing. Typically, on the LAN switch side, this multi-channel surge protection is used and on the end of the LAN devices 1-channel protection.
