The PTF-54-PRO series modules are new devices with increased impact resistance for each wire of the cable. Direct discharge of large loads without intermediary elements (looping through transformers or coupling through diode circuits) ensures total protection at a level of 2.5kA per wire.

Improved transmission and durability parameters for long-term current loads. Tuned printed circuits and higher quality RJ-45 sockets provide lower crosstalk and attenuation of transmission lines, while new solutions and components deliver proper handling and protection for PoE up to 60W (HiPoE).

Based on the PTF-54-PRO/PoE modules, it is possible to build surge protection systems for LAN networks of 10Mbit or 100Mbit, which serve to protect, among others, computers, switches, PLC controllers, industrial television systems, and other devices installed outside buildings.

Additional equipment includes circuits that protect devices powered by passive or active PoE lines, where damage may occur due to induced surge currents during lightning strikes, but also due to damage to the PoE power supply. The PTF-54 series modules are compatible with PoE power in many IEEE standards, including: 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt - type 3 (HiPoE, UPOE).

It is compatible with Ethernet networks 10Base-T and 100Base-TX and can be used with category 5, 5e, 6, and 6a cabling - by using shielded sockets, it ensures full continuity of the shielding of FTP cables. Since in such networks pairs 4,5 and 7,8 are used exclusively for PoE power, they have been grouped, therefore the module cannot be a component involved in measuring cabling parameters. For installations requiring measurements involving protectors, PTF-64 products are recommended.

The module can be mounted in metal enclosures PTU/PTF-5-MBOX, PTU/PTF-5-MBOX/DIN (1 piece) and in panels PTU/PTF-5-RACK (up to 4 pieces), creating complete multi-channel protection systems. By using different modules, we obtain systems with varied purposes and protection levels.

All modules of the PTF-54 series have grounding through the mounting screws of the Rack enclosure, so any expansion or replacement of the module is very easy and does not require additional actions. The connection of the entire device to the ground is made using the included wire, which is attached to a common grounding point.

The protected and unprotected side are equipped with RJ-45 sockets, so the modules can be connected to other patch panels, which serve as terminations for LAN cables. However, standard patch panels with LSA (Krone) connectors should not be used, as the durability of their printed circuits is very low and in the event of a surge, there is a risk that they will be damaged.
