16-channel LAN surge protector from the PROFESSIONAL series with active PoE power injection, mounted in a 19" Rack cabinet, PTU-516R-PRO/InPoE/A.
16-channel surge protector in the form of a Rack patch panel, designed to 100Base-T Ethernet. It can be used for PC computers, industrial and building automation systems, and IP-CCTV surveillance systems. It provides surge protection for data transmission paths and the built-in PSE circuit provides PoE power up to 30W/channel in IEEE802.3af/at active mode. Built-in surge protection with an effectiveness of up to 2.5kA @ 8/20µs on each wire ensures effective protection against induced electromagnetic impulses and partial lightning currents. This is a basic protection, dedicated for devices mounted inside and outside buildings in installations where uninterrupted operation of the entire system is necessary.
PTU-516R-PRO/InPoE/A consists of four PTU-54-PRO/InPoE/A modules, mounted in a PTU/PTF-5-RACK housing.
PoE power transmission takes place on lines 1-2, 3-6, according to IEEE standard: 802.3af/at, option A. Pairs 4-5 and -7-8 are completely disabled inside the device, but have built-in surge protection. Additional protection for PoE power circuits protects against power surges or damage to the power supply.

The product can be used with a LAN Switches that does not have any PoE ports, or in case of insufficient power or number of PoE ports in the LAN switch. To power each module, a power supply with a voltage of 48-56VDC and sufficient power for the connected LAN devices must be used.
A minimum of 2.5A power supply is required for full power utilization per module.
The surge protection product is equipped with RJ-45 sockets on the protected side and LSA connectors on the unprotected side. The optional PTU/PTF-5/6-COVER cover protects against dust and accidental damage to the modules, and special holes in the base allow for mounting the panel on a wall. Signal wires can be mechanically secured against being pulled out using cable ties, using holes or protrusions on the back of the panel.
When using CCTV installation with network video recorders, the panel can be mounted on corner brackets at the back of the Rack cabinet. The benefits of this solution include more space in the cabinet, convenient access to all connections, and shorter patch cords - IP video recorders usually have all sockets at the back.
Full effectiveness of surge protection is achieved by using protective products at both ends of the LAN cable and proper grounding. Usually, a multi-channel device is used on the LAN switch side and a single-channel product on the end devices side.
