1-channel surge arrester to LAN Gigabit Ethernet, PTF-61-EXT/PoE

1-channel LAN protection, designed for surge protection of Gigabit Ethernet networks, compatible with 1000Base-T, 1000Base-TX, and 10GBASE-T standards. It features direct discharge of large surge loads individually from each wire of the cable, without the often-used intermediary elements that weaken surge resistance and have a significant impact on emitting or absorbing electromagnetic interference. Very carefully designed multilayer printed circuits, a special production process, and modern components have allowed for excellent parameters required in category 6A cabling.

Three levels of protection using MOSFET technology effectively filter surges penetrating through the cabling and introduce an additional separating buffer in case of large potentials between the LAN switch and individual endpoints. MOSFET technology reduces the potential level that reaches the protected device (Voltage Protection Level UP) during a surge to a value that is only slightly higher than the rated operating voltage (Un). Achieving such parameters is impossible with the most commonly used conventional solutions.

Independent power protection circuits for PoE eliminate voltage rise between pairs 1,2 - 3,6 and 4,5 - 7,8. This solution protects the power supplies of endpoint devices from damage due to surges caused by lightning strikes or uncontrolled voltage increases, for example, due to a failure of the PoE power supply. The applied solutions are completely neutral to any PoE standard and protect each of them, including Hi PoE.

PTF-61-EXT/PoE is intended for installation near LAN endpoint devices such as: PCs, PLC controllers, IPC cameras, radio transmitters, Internet of Things devices. It is equipped with a freestanding housing that can be screwed to the wall. Proper grounding of the protection using the PE line is necessary for correct operation, preferably with the shortest, dedicated grounding point. The directional operation of the protective function described in the user manual must also be followed, and the device connections in the LAN installation should not be reversed, as this may cause improper operation or even damage.

The product is tested according to categories D1, C2, C1, B2. It is intended for use at the boundaries of LPZ0/LPZ1 zones or higher.

The protection can also be used on the switch side of the LAN; however, in the case of multiple channels, we recommend using multi-channel protections from the PTU-6xx or PF-6xx series.
